Daniella Gitlin
Daniella Gitlin received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and a Certificate in Media and Culture from NYU. Her English translation of Argentine author Rodolfo Walsh’s 1957 book-length work of investigative journalism, Operation Massacre [Operación Masacre], was published by Seven Stories Press in 2013, and her writing and translations have appeared in the Latin American Literary Review, the London Review of Books blog, HuffPost, and CineAction, among other publications. Daniella’s documentary shorts, On the Futility of Escaping from the Self (2009) and Inventory (2021), have been screened in festivals in New York City and South America. Daniella sits as Board President and is a longtime collective member of the nonprofit Word Up, a predominantly volunteer-run multi-language community bookshop, art, and music space in Washington Heights.
